Old Fashioned Pancakes

These fluffy, delicious pancakes will be an instant hit with the entire family! Serve with syrup and icing sugar for an extra treat in the morning.


  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • blueberries, for garnish (optional)
  • icing sugar, for garnish (optional)
  • maple syrup (optional)


Step 1

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar

Step 2

In small bowl, mix the milk and egg together and then very slowly add the melted butter and then combine with the ingredients in the large bowl, mix until smooth

Step 3

Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat with a bit of oil

Step 4

Pour approximately ¼ cup of pancake batter per pancake onto the frying pan and cook 2 - 3 minutes per side, until golden brown

Step 5

Remove from pan, garnish with icing sugar, maple syrup and blueberries and enjoy!
