Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Breaded chicken nuggets are packed with flavour are best enjoyed with a side of fries or salad and dipping sauce.


  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs (can substitute Italian seasoned)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (not needed with Italian seasoned breadcrumbs)
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil (not needed with Italian seasoned breadcrumbs)


Step 1

Cut the chicken beast into 1½ inch peices

Step 2

Line up three bowls -- place the flour in the first bowl, the beaten eggs in the second bowl and then mix the breadcrumbs, thyme and basil in the third bowl

Step 3

Take each piece of chicken, roll it around in the first bowl to cover completely with flour, dip it in the second bowl to soak in the egg, place in the third bowl to cover completely with breadcrumbs and then place on a plate

Step 4

Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat with a bit of oil or cooking spray

Step 5

Place as many pieces of chicken in the pan as can fit and cook until golden brown, 4-5 minutes per side

Step 6

Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes

Step 7

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

    I like the recipe , but I marinate the chicken in buttermilk for 30 min. to 1 hr. and use oregano instead of basil.
